Matthew Boyd is a Connecticut-born cinematographer credited with more than 10 feature films and 30 short films as well as numerous commercials and music videos. Many of those works have won multiple awards and played in festivals around the world. Boyd graduated from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco in 2002. Two months after graduation, he shot his first feature film, “Robbery 101” for Rafael Cabrera in Miami. In 2006, Boyd lensed the 35mm feature “Rockin’ Meera” with writer/director Parampal Gill, a comedic action/adventure shot on location in Delhi and Rajasthan, India. He returned to India in the same year to shoot well-known Bollywood director N. Chandra’s (“Tezaab,” “Ankush”) “Yeh Mera India” in Mumbai. He will return to India again this summer to shoot a short film with Chandra Kilaru (“A Step Towards Heaven”) entitled “Nation of Hunger.” His work has received many accolades, including: “He Lives” (directed by Tyler Massey), best drama at the Beverly Hills Shorts Festival, best sci-fi film at the Poppy Jasper Film Festival; “Vanilla” (directed by Joseph Graham), best short feature award at the Berkeley Film Festival and Viewer’s Voice Award at the San Jose International Film Festival. “Cabin 6” (directed by Michael McCaffrey) won the best of show at the 2005 DAMAH Film Festival in Los Angeles, best short film at the 2004 Film Artist Network in Los Angeles and the Audience Choice Award at the 2007 East Lansing Film Festival.
