David Crabtree, born and raised in the greater Los Angeles area, is best known as a picture editor. As an editor, his credits include 24 episodes of “NYPD Blue,” eight television pilots and numerous movies, mini-series and television shows, including “Las Vegas,” “Psych,” “The Lost Room” and “Five Days to Midnight.” He has had the great fortune to work with legendary directors John Badham (“Blue Thunder,” “Saturday Night Fever,” “War Games”) and John Landis (“Animal House,” “Blue Brothers,” “An American Werewolf in London”). He’s also worked with Emmy-winning directors, writers and producers, including Steven Bochco, David Milch, Mark Tinker and Michael Watkins. As a director, David helmed an award-winning short called “The Bedroom,” which won the gold award for experimental drama at the Houston International Film Festival in 1994. “The Bedroom” was photographed by Matthew Libatique (“Iron Man,” “Requiem for a Dream,” “Inside Man”). Recently, David has directed several sketch comedy short films. Two of them — “The Overshare” and “The Jesus Workout” — were featured on funnyordie.com.
